Isaac Newton is most famous for his laws of motion and gravitation. His first law of motion is also known as the Law of Inertia, which states:
"Every body persists in its state of being at rest or of moving uniformly straight forward, except insofar as it is compelled to change its state by forces impressed."
This law defined the concept of inertia - that objects resist changes to their trajectory, and that any change in trajectory requires an external force.
This profile is a human-enabled statistical "bot" that applies this reasoning to any object. It makes the assumption that the best estimate for the trajectory of any object is to assume no external forces act, and therefore that the current trajectory continues. In most cases this will be interpreted as assuming "no change", unless there is a clear linear trend that can be extrapolated.
