Intel acquired Mobileye, a company that develops hardware and software for autonomous vehicles, in 2017. In December 2021, Intel announced plans to take Mobileye public while retaining majority ownership (Intel). Preparations for an IPO this year have already begun, with Intel filing for an IPO in March and hiring investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to lead the IPO preparations (Reuters). Proceeds from the IPO are expected to fund the building of new chip plants, according to Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger (Reuters).
