On 20 May 2025, the U.S. national average price for regular gasoline was $3.177 per gallon, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). For comparison, the U.S. average price for all grades and formulations was $3.600 per gallon in July 2024 and $3.712 per gallon in July 2023, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Resolution Criteria: This question will resolve as “Yes” if the EIA reports a national average retail price for gasoline (all grades) of $3.600 per gallon or higher for July 2025.
The official value will be taken from the EIA’s monthly “Gasoline-All Grades” data once the data for July 2025 is available.
