Intra-regional trade in Western Asia and North Africa has grown significantly over the past 30 years, with the share of total exports going to other countries within the region rising from 10.9% in 1995 to 21.2% in 2024. However, this represents a slight decline from a peak of 21.9% in 2020.

Resolution Criteria:
This question will be resolved using the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) “Merchandise: Intra-trade and extra-trade of country groups” database for Western Asia and North Africa. The question will resolve “Yes” if the 2025 or 2026 intra-group percentage by destination value for exports equals or exceeds 24.0%.
